The creature known as the Grinch lives isolated on Mount Crumpit, looking down on the cheerful Whos of Whoville, and declares war on their Christmas merriment. He steals their gifts, trees, and feasts�but the Whos awaken the next morning, still singing joyfully, which leads the Grinch�s heart to grow �three sizes� after realizing that Christmas isn�t something that can be stolen.
